BCC model

Does anyone have one, or know anything about where to get a BCC half-hull?

Anyone interested in getting one made (it would be cheaper to have a
custom one made if there where several people committed to getting one)?

Best regards,

Julian

Hello,

My wife gave me a BCC half-hull model two Christmas's ago. It was made my Lyle Hess's son-in-law. At the time there were several people making them. We feel that he did a great job on the half-hull model for an excellent price at the time.

I will ask my wife if she still has the address information and the pricing when she returns later this week.

Thanks, Mike Lyon

I had a half-hull model of the BCC made by a fellow whose name, I believe,
is Ken Gardiner. I believe he’s in California. I can check my records to
see if I have a contact name for him. He did a very good job, and will
paint the hull and bottom any color you specify.

There are two half models available. One is from Ken Gardner in Costa Mesa,
It is the smallest one and it not accurate to the lines of the BCC but it is
a fine job. I even have one on my own boat. The model is about 14"+/-
long on a board several inches longer. This model has the bulwarks and
rudder as part of the model.

The other model is made by Steve De Coux in Long Beach. Steve is the
Son-in-Law of Lyle Hess. This model is perfectly made to the actual lines
of the BCC. It is only the hull and it is a bit bigger than the one Ken
makes. I would guess it to be about 24" long. Steve’s half model is
slightly more expensive than Kens. I do not want to quote prices here
because my information is too old.

I do not have the contact number for either of the two but if Sumio is
reading this, would you please call Steve De Coux to see if it is ok to give
out his phone number. I know Ken Gardner would love you to give his out.

Hope this helps.

One more try - I build half models and have the lines for the BCC. I
would be happy to build one for anyone that wants one. I build them
any size and paint them to your specifications.

Contact info and pictures of some of my recent models are on my web
site: http://userpages.acadia.net/todddunn/halfhull/halfhull.htm

Todd Dunn

I know of a gentleman, Todd Dunn, who builds half models and
asked him if he would be interested. “Yes”, he replied and he has
the lines for the BCC and “could start tomorrow”.

Here’s his web page with the info:

http://userpages.acadia.net/todddunn/halfhull/halfhull.htm

“I will build a 3/4” to the foot (21" long hull) painted BCC model for
$300 mounted on the backing board of their choice."

Put me on the list if we find a good source…
