Bow Net

I just finished a bow net for Dilkara. I don’t have a furling jib
system or the ears that extend the width of the sprit. It was always
an adventure to go out on the thing with only the bowsprit stays for
support. The net goes from the bow to about a foot from the end of
the sprit. I used 3/8 inch spun dacron and made the grid of the net
about 5 inches square. I haven’t tried it yet, but it should solve
the problem and it looks cool too. I am looking forward to laying out
on it when the wind is not too strong. Anyone interested in how I
made it, let me know. The net sags down a bit and can be lifted about
a foot so that it won’t foul the anchor line.
