Jolie Brise and Serious BCCs that Sail the Oceans

Jolie Brise is at the dock here in Annapolis on her way to Beaufort, SC. She, of couse, was a picture child for Bristol Channel Cutters and for Sam L. Morse. She’s famous, as she is in the Best Boats book we all know and love. While she’s not a “pretty” as she was in 1985, she is just as perfect as she was meant to be. She is a perfect example of a real cruising BCC. Everything is purpose and function.
Bill did a great job of rigging her. She’s a great sailer, and fast, she made 7.6 knots on a close reach with a single reef in a stormy 20 knot breeze. The dinghy stows nicely on the cabin top under the boom with special chocks. You don’t need a dodger with the dinghy up there and the foredeck is clear for anchoring on for opening the forward hatch. I think Lin and Larry would approve. I’ll take pictures of some of the nice ideas.

Yes, Pictures please for the cubicle bound would be appreciated.
