Maine 2011

Anyone up for a get-together in August? We are planning to be in Penobscot around Mid-August.

We’ll be in Belfast or therabouts so let’s get together.

Would be fun to overlap with the Belfast Harborfest, August 20th. Check out
belfastharborfest.com – boatbuilding competition, races, traditional
smallcraft, music and more. Dottie and I will be involved with some of the
music-making.

where are ya now Ben?

Ok cool Scott – let try to connect. Also there is a 32’ wood BCC heading up to Maine this week from NYC. I will try yo lure him in that direction as well, and we can meet up in your neck of the woods.

We are currently in Halifax, heading to Lunenberg tomorrow, and then crossing to Jonesport or there abouts on Mon-Tues if weather cooperates.

Ben,
There is also the Mahone Bay Pirate Festival on this weekend. I’ll be there Sunday, and will swing by Lunenburg to see if you made it.

John

John, sorry we missed you. We came into Lunenberg, spent the afternoon and left early Sunday AM for Shelburne. We did see some pirates walking around town. Fantastic rain storm that day… that’s just about when arrived in Lunenberg, blowing 30kts.

August 20th in Belfast would work for us, I’ll be rowing in the pilot gig race at 11:00, maybe afternoon get together?

Dottie and I will be playing banjo and whistle with the Belfast Bay Fiddlers, two sets, at the Belfast Co-op’s customer appreciation festivities from noon to 1pm and down by Steamboat landing from 2 to 3. But we’ll be ready for a get together no matter what, so let’s just see what will work as the time draws nigh.

All sounds good to us!

We are in Maine for the duration, no plans. So we will be bummin’ round till the frost sets in up here. We’ll try to get up to Belfast for a bit, and see everyone, Check out the co-op festivities, get some fresh vegetables, etc.

After our summer in Newfoundland, where all vegetables come in cans, we’ve decided to do a tour, by boat of the best coastal farm stands in Maine.

Ok - can’t make it Saturday. Just bad timing for me now. I’ll still be around Maine for a month, but tomorrow is no good.
