Wish to see a BCC

I’m wondering if there’s anyone in the New York/Boston area who’d be
willing to let me see their boat (probably when the weather gets a little
warmer). I currently sail/race/cruise a 17’ open decked racing dinghy called
a Thistle. When I finish my doctorate, I want to get a liveaboard boat, and
from looking on the web and listening to friends, I think the BCC might be
what I want, but I’ve never had a chance to see one. I’m currently living in
the Albany, NY, area (about 3 hrs from either NYC or Boston). (I looked at
the registry, but I’m not sure who’s still where they were listed or how to
contact them if they are, so this seemed most logical.)

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Marsha,

I came from the Albany area about 5 years ago and now live on Martha’s
Vineyard. We recently acquired a BCC named Thistle (coincidence?). If you are
interested, let us know. Carloscc@massed.net

Marsha,

We just moved from the Saratoga Springs area. There has been a BCC
on Lake Champlain in the Charlotte harbor which is on the VT side. i
forget the name, but owners were very friendly and eger to show-off
their boat. If you take the ferry from the NY side, the Ferry lands
in Charlotte.

We just sold a Flicka that we lived on for a year. A BCC is our next
boat. We fell in love with it at the Annapolis Boat Show 5 years
ago. Have you looked at the Frances 26. There is a link to one for
sale on the Flicka Homepage.

Good Luck,

Omay Elphick
