What will I need to do to add a shower to by BCC hull#66?
where were u thinking?
In the head, looking forward, port-side about eye level
Itchen has a pull-out hand-held shower which doubles as the faucet for the sink in the head compartment. One stands on a teak grating and the water drains into a sump below that is fitted with a small and more than adequate Rule 300GPH toggle-switched drain pump. I would prefer that to a permanently mounted shower head higher up because the space is not all that large and it is easier to keep “overspray” out of the wet locker and shelves and cabinets in the vicinity.

Hi Guys, “There are ways to plow a field, with out buying a tractor”, that is what Lin would say, Larry just says, " Cheap and Cheerful ", refering to the best way to do many boat projects.
The shower I install and use on BCC 72 ,Calliste, is a soft shell (2’w X 4’l X 3’h, roll-up tub, and the garden sprayer tank.
Here, in the tropics, I mostly use the garden sprayer in the cockpit, but back in cold San Francisco, I set up my soft tub inside the main cabin, at the base of the companion way steps, and climb in, along with a ready at hand, nice glass of brandy on the chart table.

Douglas:
Where did you purchase the roll-up tub?? I like it - KISS.
We also use a weed sprayer in the cockpit for our “shower.” I purchased a sink sprayer from Wal-Mart “marine” and replaced the weed sprayer nozzle with the sink sprayer nozzle.
I am a little confused about the mention of the brandy. Do you add this to the bath water to chelate the hard mineral salts in the water?

No, no, Rod - haven’t you heard that brandy is the newest in hair
conditioner? Used to be lemon juice . . . Gotta save the rum for drinking,
though, so brandy won as the hair stuff.
Couldn’t resist.
Hope everyone is thinking spring thoughts! I was not pleased to see snow in
Virginia on Saturday morning.
Cheers to all!

Thanks for the laugh, Rod and Nica, hummor is the best medicine.
Rod, when I was outfitting in Newport Beach, CA., my canvas maker, Bob Balisteria(sp-?), made contact with a local waterbed maker who used a plastic seam welder.
Bob tried using a heavy weight Stamoid fabric from Switzerland(sp-?)white color, and having the seams welded, it worked fine, so that is what my tub is made of.
I use 4 small size pony spring clamps to clip the sides to the sink and chart table fiddles, and an extra bungy cord in each upper rear corner.
I put a bath towel on the floor first, to make sitting in the tub softer, and step on the exposed end when exiting with wet feet.
In the cold climate, I heat a large tea kettle on the stove before the tub is set up, and am filling the brandy glass, this proceedure also warms both the cabin , and me .
I fill the sprayer half full with cold water, then add the heated tea kettle water, then climb in and sit down on the floor with the now covered companionway stairs as a backrest, and shower .
To empty the tub, I use a plastic coke bottle bailer, to bail the water into the sink, then mop up with my chaomie-towel(sp-?), unclip, and roll the tub up and stow it away.
This system is not my idea, but I read about it somewhere, and it works soo well for me, I had Bob make a spare tub, too.
After the Brandy, and feeling creative, I think of many other uses for the soft shell tub.
