Am the new owner of FC Narwhal. Am at a loss re anchor chain storage and deployment/retrieval. Any help appreciated.
Ive owned 13 sailboats over 40 years. The FC was by far my favorite. I will never get over selling that boat but now I’m chasing Seraffyn. You might want to add a roller a bit forward of the stem. I don’t have my hard drives with me so not many great images but here are a few. I used 40’ of chain with 300’ of 1/2 three strand which was replaced every year. Id use the old line for new dock lines for my self and neighbors. It’s a hard life for boats in the islands, I often had up to 12 dock line set at a time during the winter so there was no wast in this process. The FC is by far the easiest boat I’ve ever been aboard for setting and retreival. When I bought the boat it came with a windlass and 200’ of chain, huge mistake, boat sailed like crap to weather with this set up.
