Another Proud Owner

Hello,
I had wanted to introduce myself to the Family. Shellback, BCC #114 arrived at Basin Marine, Newport Beach, California on June 18. She has been renamed Solimar.

After two weeks of getting everything squared away we sailed for Catalina Island on a two week shakedown. We had a wonderful time!

I look forward to getting to know all the other owners. I feel like I know some of you already as I have been lurking here on the owners site for over eight years. I purchased a Falmouth Cutter back in December of 2000. She is currently at Mike Anderson Boat Works for a refit.

On a final note I would like to say that Bernie and Kate at RogueWave did such an amazing job on every front. The transaction was easy and clean. Bernie flew out to California on his own dime to commission her! Amazing. Frankly, like most of you I have spent many a day in various boatyards and certainly have my own opinions. Clearly, Bernie did the work of at least three guys. I probably would have spent more than a few thousand dollars and the job would not have been anything close to what Bernie accomplished. He tuned the rig perfectly.

Anyway, glad to be one of you all finally.

Sincerely,
Kendal Banks

Hi Kendal , welcome Home, you are among friends. Congratulations on your recent purchase of a BCC .

We too like and admire Kate and Bernie , for their professionalism, enthusiam, and dedication to our Hess designed, family of boats.

Their admiration is not misplaced, nor their attention to detail.

If ever I had to list my BCC , I would definately contact them first .

We hope that you can access the forum archives for further info , or ask us here .

We hope that you enjoy your BCC as much as we enjoy, ours .

Hello Kendal,
I’m sure I know how you feel about the boat!
Let me add my congratulations.

Adventure left on a truck for Jacksonville this afternoon, on her way to Dubai.

John Purins the previous owner quickly made the transition from a seller to a valued friend, and without his help, enthusiasm, and obvious love for the boat, the process of preparation would have been a lot harder, and less enjoyable.

I feel privileged to be one of the elite community of BCC owners, and look forward to a lot of exchanges with you all.

Mike.
