Hi All, BCC 72’s mast was damaged in the Asian Tsunami, but only when it was removed and placed in 2 vee block stands, did a “set” or perminate bend in the mast show up. Various ripples in the mast wall, were visable on the port and stb mast sides, between the upper spreader, and top of the mast, which may have been caused by welding in the taper at the factory. The stb spreader bases were forced forward ripping the aft of the base apart from the mast and compression denting results in the fwd part of the base on the mast.
I contacted Alan Massey at Forespar, and sent photos by email, he replied that he received them, but now it has been 2 weeks with out a quote or update from him.
At this point I am interested to find out whether Forespar can anodize masts, and whether they are just too busy to help me.
I am thinking about what alternative mast or spar system is available for the BCC and can the manufacturer ship it to Singapore ?
Has anyone on the forum researched alternative mast systems ? If so what were their results ?
