Berth size

Hi All,

I am hoping to get a chance at chartering a BCC this fall but am having trouble finding info about berth size.

It seems that the dinette converts into a double sized bed, is this correct?

What I’m really trying to verify is if there’s a berth on this boat that will fit someone who is 6’5" tall?

Thanks in advance,

– Bass

Gee , Bass , my settee bunks in a Sam Morse built boat would not be comfortable for an over 6’ person , I am trying to enlarge my port side settee bunk to accomodate a comfortable two person bunk, not an easy task !

We found that extending the pilot port side berth was not joy for us . especially since we could not sit up and read comfortably while in the extended dbl bunk position .

I did copy the port side bunk arrangement that Doug Schmuck of BCC Puffin , N Z , did to his boat , but that fell short as he advised it would , for a comfortable two some , over night .

Currently I am still designing and working with a plan to widen that berth , but how to make it longer would require a rearangement of fixed furniture in the cabin.

That can be done but there would be compromises all around .

I had a nice settee arangement for taller persons on my Pacific Seacraft Orion 27’ , and had my best friend at 6’8" be very comfortable sleeping on that bunk , during an overnight passage from San Francisco to Monterey . That arrangement could be adapted to a BCC if needed , as it was quite comfortable for all who slepped there .

Good Luck , everything depends on how you want to use your boat ???

My starboard aft berth is 6’6’’ amd the double would wrk to if you lie at a slight angle.
