Hello all BCC owners, lovers, and dreamers . . .
?
This is to start the dreaming for the summer get-together . . .
?
Last summer’s first annual, held in Oxford, Maryland in early July, was a great success, with 7 Lyle Hess boats in attendance. Cole on Sirius organized our raft-up, and stories and boat hopping continued far into the night. The second night saw four of us left in the anchorage, nobody eating dinner alone . . . We as a large group discussed a location for this summer’s spot and came up with St. Mary’s, Maryland, hoping to attract more boats from the southern part of the bay but not leave the northerners out of it all together. So let’s start the planning!
?
Points to consider:
Last summer was in July: warm, nettle-ridden, and not too much wind. Here’s suggesting it be in June. I do know Kate and Bernie have a conflict somewhere in there, but I forget what it is . . . I propose sometime in the first 2 weeks of June.
Last summer we were in a great anchorage: quiet and big enough for lots of boats. It was, however, a little far from town for those with less of a fast dink. I don’t know the area around St. Mary’s well at all, but is there a possible spot that fits criteria number one while still being accessible to a town for those who want more action? Do we want more action?
Last summer we had attending one couple who were land-based. If this is a desire for anyone, we probably need to keep that in mind, although answering #2 will probably address this as well.
As far as I can tell, the more the merrier. So spread the word to anyone on a BCC (or other Lyle Hess boat you know) without internet capability!
?
Thoughts, concerns, comments, ideas . . . all welcome. This winter has been far too long and thoughts of sailing are keeping me going here in (almost) snowless Charlottesville. Heck, the kids are even starting sentences with, when we go sailing . . .
?
Lets see if we can top last year for attendance!

Hi,
?
This is Aloha Kate’s BCC definitely worse half (the bad part of the equation), Bernie, the rogue in RogueWave.
June 12, Kate and myself will take our Hallberg-Rassy 53 to Bermuda for a month.
?
Anytime before that, I think will be fine. July is also open. St. Marys is a good choice.
?
About the BCC wanna-abees…what are you waiting for?
Really!.
Last year we had a couple looking and wishing to own a BCC for ten plus years. In my opinion, that is completely insane.
LIFE IS WAY TO SHORT FOR JUST DREAMING.
?
We, here at RogueWave Yacht Sales currently have FOUR BCCs available, plus TWO NorSea 27s, besides my biggest nightmare, the half completed Falmouth Cutter (buy her now, she might be ready for the get together).
?
So, to all of the wanna-a-bees…get your BCC, NorSea, or FC and join us for a really good time. Last year was really out of sight, especially when the unexpected Canadian BCC came around the bend. Great group, wonderful memories, and incredible boats&.
?
To all of the crews of BCC’s, see you there.
?
Rod, please leave your camera at home.

We haven’t seen anything for a while on the possibility of a
rendezvous this year. We are very interested in attending and will
sail up from Florida to be there. Is there any discussion of
dates/locations yet? We hope this comes together as we’d love the
opportunity to visit with other owners. Ray and Berny

I just finished a telephone conversation with Nica Waters (S/V Calypso) about the BCC Rendezvous.?
Based on the lack of response on this discussion forum, we are wonder if perhaps gearing up for a yearly BCC rendezvous is too much to ask.?
We would like to propose that the Rendezvous become a biannual gathering instead of an annual event. Also let’s set a fixed date in either June or September that corresponds to a three-day?weekend closest to the full moon.
The full moon in June 2004 occurs on Thursday?June 3rd and in September, Tuesday the 28th.?
We would like your input on this proposal.?

Hi Kids,?Well, we have a Nor’Sea 27 just purchased by a young SOS adventurer who will show up.?
We have a another creative artist that is purchasing Jolie Bries up in Havre De Grace that will definitely attend.?
We have our Aloha here in Annapolis.?
We have Iduna in Baltimore that needs her docklines cut!..
and hopefully not a full moon to leave the dock with, for that would definitely limit their sailing time.Get diesel before you leave this time!?
We have Calypso on the South Bay that will attend.?
Having a get together every two years is like having sex once a month. Some probably here think that its still better than once a year. We all have beautiful boats, all with a common bond. Let’s get off of our lazy fat butts and meet somewhere soon, in June, in July, in August, whenever…This is why we have our boats to sail, to meet and to reestablish and refresh our memories and our shared love for the sea.?Spend your time living or you can spend your time dieing! The choice is yours…?Full moon or not,?
