Falmouth Cutter Mariko Goes to Hawaii

Aloha Sailors!

While many of us think of sailing far, a few of us do! Last year we sold a Falmouth Cutter to a sailor with little experience and a very big dream. He wanted to sail in a small boat across the Pacific by himself. Well, he sailed from Southern California to Hilo, Hawaii all by himself. I was delighted to hear that. He has great tales to tell of his amazing adventure. He did say that the waves were very, very big a times. I can’t wait to hear more about the voyage. It just shows you what a person can do if they want to do it!

It was never a question weather or not the Falmouth Cutter or the BCC could make the passage, as always, it’s weather or not the skipper and sometimes crew can make the passage. Barring the skipper sailing into an imovable object, either boat will always get you home. We did the Alameda, CA. to Ohau trip in 2003 and loved it-nothing like blue water.
