In an effort to stimulate useage of the FC Forum (the last new posting was March 3) I will post several new messages that I hope will generate renewed interest in the forum. It seems that most individuals, myself included, have tended to migrate over to the BCC Forum, but hopefully we can keep this forum active and begin to enrich the content for Falmouth Cutter enthusiasts.

Hello anyone and everyone. Not sure how well/often this forum works, but Ive signed up to hopefully get some information on a littel Falmouth Cutter 25’(builder unknown) laying in the Marquesas (french polynesia) which I am preparing to go rescue after she broke her mooring line and went aground last month… The owners are friends, but are unable to go assist, and also very vague about some technical difficulties I may encounter- namely that the rudder is no longer attached to the boat…
THe most information Ive been able to get indicates that the rudders on FC’s are mounted off the transom with “bronze fasteners” - what sort and what configuration is a mystery. Would anyone out there have a close up photo of one? I figure that I can re-build a rudder, but re-seating bronze fittings (which probably extend into the frame of the boat) could be all but impossible in the remote Marquesas… Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated, as I have never seen this boat in person, and its a long way to travel without all the information. thanks
