Forum Fund Raising Drive

Dear Forum Users:

It’s that time again for Fund Raising to keep this priceless resource, the BCC & FC Forums, on the air. The last Fund Raising Campaign was 3 years ago. Cole Data has managed these funds well, as well as donated more time and resources to the Forums than any company or individual should, in terms of good business practices.

In the last Campaign, we raised over $1,200, thanks to the generous donations by a small percentage of the forum members. We need more people to donate for this Fund Raising Campaign.

The Goal for this campaign is to raise $1,200 by Sunday May 8th.

Lenora and I, BCC IDUNA, just made a $100 donation/payment to help keep this wonderful resource on the Internet. We need another 11 members to match this contribution or 22 members to donate $50 each. If you can not afford $100, $50 or $25, then make a $10 donation. If every forum member made a $10 within the next 48 hours, we would meet our goal of $1,200.

Where do we all go, when we have a questions about equipment, projects, ideas, parts and material sourcing? We all ask the forum:

“Anyone set a drifter or spinnaker?”

“What engine to install for re-powering?”

“Windsvanes?”

“Anchors?”

“Refrigeration?”

We have a photo gallery for these beautiful boats and there are 1,000’s of photos in it. This will all disappear without funds to support the forums.

The list goes on and on and the answers are at the Forum. We all think this is free. It’s not. Someone has to pay the server fees, the electricity, the technician time, etc. Without funding, this priceless resource goes off the air. The amount of money we raise does not cover all the costs. Coledata donates more time and resources than any company should. Why? Because John Cole likes these boats. It’s that simple but we also need to donate. Nothing is free.

If we cannot raise the $1,200 by Sunday May 8th. This fund raising campaign will be my last campaign.

How can you donate?

By clicking on the PayPal link - http://www.samlmorse.com/?a=donations, This is not a none profit site, hence a 6% Maryland tax is added to your donation.

or mailing a check to:

OK, this post had 10 view since it was posted.

We have raised $700 today but we need help to make our goal. Please think about this site and what it means to Falmouth Cutter owners. It’s a place to have questions answered and post photo.

The forum is spam free.

The forum has no advertisement.

The forum does not sell email addresses or other information.

This all cost money and the money we raise does not even cover server cost. Coledata donates time and resources to keep this site on the internet.

The $100 donations are nice but a $5 donation is just as important. Please help keep this forum alive on the internet. Without the forum, who else will promote your FC 22 and help keep the market value of the boat up.

If you viewed the initial fund raising post, make a donation of $5 or $10. You can do the math as well as I - $5 X 10 = $50 closer to our goat or $10 X 10 = $100 closer to our goal.

In the last fund raising campaign, the site received very few donations from the FC forum members. No one on the BCC forum ever asked, “Why do we keep the FC forum?” We are a family held together the design pen of the late Lyle Hess.

Please make a donation. We need your help.

Thank you.

Rod

Falmouth Cutter Owners and Followers:

We have raised $953 so far and need about $250 more to make our goal of $1,200 for this fund raising campaign.

We receive contributions from:

Virginia Cross,

Jo Anne Ross,

Paul Becker,

Mark Fuller,

Derek Lundy.

Thank you, thank you so very much. Your generous support tells all of us, you care about keeping this resource on the Internet.

We also have several pledges. We need to make our goal. Making a donation tells all the forum members you believe in this site and the benefits of this site.

What is a BCC and FC. Sail into an anchorage or off the hook and you will understand what it means to sail a BCC or FC. Very few boats sail as well as the BCC or FC, look as beautiful and bring their crews home after a storm. That’s what a BCC and FC are, beautiful sailing machines and this is our site for discussions about these lovely boats and displaying photos of our boats and projects. It’s all here and we need to support this resource.

Please make a $5, $10, $20, $30 donation.

I know not as many Falmouth cutters were made as BCC but that does not mean you are limited to the FC forum. These are open forums and as you know, you can post on the BCC forum, as well as the FC forum. The website belongs to all of us. Years ago we knew the couple who owned “Tattooed Lady,” a beautiful example of a Falmouth Cutter. In many ways, we should have purchased her when Enis and Becky offered her for sale. She was purposeful and beautiful.

If you visit this site, please make a donation.

Thanks You,

Rod

Nate: Thank you for your donation.

Dan: Thank you for your donation:

Mike: Thank you for your donation.

Wow, this is great. I have not checked the balance but we may be close to approaching our goal. My estimate is we need about $100 more.

Please don’t let only a few support this website. Donate, $5, $10, $15, whatever you think you can afford to help support this priceless resource.

Thank You,

Rod

Wayne: Thank you for help keeping this priceless resource on the Internet.

Jay: Thank you for support this site.

I am thrilled at the response we have received for the fund raising campaign. Simply thrill.

We are close. Help push the ball over the top and save my typing fingers.

Too all who have help get the ball almost to the top, thank you so very, very much.

Rod

David Kent - thank you for your donation.

Ellen Dawson - thank you for your donation.

Robert K: Thank you for your support.

Ron T: Thank you for believing in this great forum.

Thomas W: Thank you for your generous donation.

We raised $1,328. If we can raise $1,500 to keep this website on the internet, I would be thrilled. As a family of BCC and FC owners, you should be proud what you have done. Currently the SLM website is busier than either Hunter of Beneteau.

I plan to end the campaign Sunday at 6 pm. Making a donation of $5, $10 or $20 just means we keep the “lights On” longer before we must run another fund raising campaign. What ever amount you donate helps.

Thanks to everyone who has made this site possible and for keeping the “lights ON” longer.

Rod

This morning when I wrote my “mini tome” about mechanic actuated LPG valves, I thought about how much time I donated to this particular thread - all total about 3 hours. How many marine yards can design and build a mechanical actuated LPG valve let alone provide a written explanation. My guess is very few and a owner will pay dearly if a yard built and installed one.

These type of entries are routinely made at the BCC and FC forums by our members who give of their time freely, share their projects and post pictures. No, it’s not free, we help pay the bills by donations when we run fund raising campaigns. The BCC and FC forum knowledge base is a priceless resource to BCC and FC owners. I believe all the generous individuals who donated, did so, because their recognize the value of the BCC and FC forums.

The campaign is “officially” closed just $137.00 short of reaching the $2,000 mark.

Thanks to every one who donated.

Fair Winds,

Rod

Gary:

Thank you so very much. Wow, $1,963.

Anyone wish to donate $37 and push the ball up to the $2,000 mark? Or, four $10 donations.

Rod

Nica and Jeremy Waters just pushed the ball over the top. As soon as USPS delivers the mail, the Grand Total for this Funding Campaign will be:

$2,063.00 Let me repeat that, $2,063.00.

Thank you Nica and Jeremy. Hat’s off to the crew of Calypso.

Rod

Mehmet:

You are more than generous with your two donations. Today’s contribution will push the ball to the $2,100.00 mark. Thank you so very much for believing in this site.

Rod

Nathanial Berkowitz: Thank you for your generous donation to the fund drive. Your donation just pushed the total to $2150.00.

Thank You,

Rod
