Funding Drive for the BCC Forum

Dear Forum Users:

It’s that time again for Fund Raising to keep this priceless resource, the BCC & FC Forums, on the air. The last Fund Raising Campaign was 3 years ago. Cole Data has managed these funds well, as well as donated more time and resources to the Forums than any company or individual should, in terms of good business practices.

In the last Campaign, we raised over $1,200, thanks to the generous donations by a small percentage of the forum members. We need more people to donate for this Fund Raising Campaign.

The Goal for this campaign is to raise $1,200 by Sunday May 8th.

Lenora and I, BCC IDUNA, just made a $100 donation/payment to help keep this wonderful resource on the Internet. We need another 11 members to match this contribution or 22 members to donate $50 each. If you can not afford $100, $50 or $25, then make a $10 donation. If every forum member made a $10 within the next 48 hours, we would meet our goal of $1,200.

Where do we all go, when we have a questions about equipment, projects, ideas, parts and material sourcing? We all ask the forum:

“Anyone set a drifter or spinnaker?”

“What engine to install for re-powering?”

“Windsvanes?”

“Anchors?”

“Refrigeration?”

We have a photo gallery for these beautiful boats and there are 1,000’s of photos in it. This will all disappear without funds to support the forums.

The list goes on and on and the answers are at the Forum. We all think this is free. It’s not. Someone has to pay the server fees, the electricity, the technician time, etc. Without funding, this priceless resource goes off the air. The amount of money we raise does not cover all the costs. Coledata donates more time and resources than any company should. Why? Because John Cole likes these boats. It’s that simple but we also need to donate. Nothing is free.

If we cannot raise the $1,200 by Sunday May 8th. This fund raising campaign will be my last campaign.

How can you donate?

By clicking on the PayPal link - http://www.samlmorse.com/?a=donations, This is not a none profit site, hence a 6% Maryland tax is added to your donation.

Please show what this forum means to you by making a donation. Besides a resource the forum helps keep Lyle Hess’s legacy alive by keep these boats in the public’s eye.

“What type of boat is that?” is a common questions. I tell people to do a google search for Bristol Channel Cutter.

One forum user, asked why do we have a link to the Cape George site. It’s simple, the boat is still in production and this helps maintain the market value of the boat. This is an important point, when people ask if the boat is in production.

OK, you heard it here, now let’s help keep this site on the Internet.

Rod

Doug:

Thank You so very much.

Rod

Luis: Thank you

Thomas: Thank you

Robert: Thank you.

I am pleased, so many BCC Forum users believe this forum is a priceless store of information about the Bristol Channel Cutter and Falmouth Cutter. Want to know about Radar? The information is in the archives. Want to know about 3-strand rope? It’s in the archives. The list is endless. The wealth of information at the forum is beyond my imagination. Want to know how to make a dorade box, it’s all here.

Please keep the site alive and healthy on the interest. We have all followed projects and voyages and been inspired. Please donate $5, $10, $20. The $100 donations are great but any donation is great. It says, you believe in this site and these wonderful boats than came from Lyle Hess’ pen.

To all who have donated so far - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Please keep the donations coming in before my fingers go numb from typing. I am suppose to be at the boat working today. Our splash date is 16 May. Instead, I believe in the forum enough to give my time to keep it on the internet.

Thank You,

Rod

Mehmet: Thank you.

Ron: Thank you.

We have raised a little over $700. We need to raise another $500 to make the fund raising campaign of $1,200.

The forum is advertising free.

The forum does not sell your email addresses.

The forum does not sell any information from this site.

Photos are not sold off this website.

The forum is spam free.

The forum is protected from the bad guys with their Trojan horse, worms, virus, etc.

But it cost money to provide these service. The “bad guys” are not sitting still and Coledata must counter their attacks. It cost money to do this and the amount of money we raise does not even cover server fees.

If you visit this site on a regular basis, it’s time to make a donation. Think about the enjoyment you receive from reading posts from this site or having a problem solved by a member. Donate $5,$10,$20 $50, $100. The $5 donations are just as important as the $100 donations. It makes no difference what you can donate, just donate and help keep this site on the internet.

The boat is not out of production. Cape George is manufacture the boat on an order basis, as was always the case. Personally, I am thrilled Cape George purchased the molds and tooling from SLM Company. The builder has changed but the quality has not. Help keep this legendary boat alive on the internet.

Make a donation.

We need your support.

Thank you.

Rod

Thanks, Rod, for spearheading the campaign, and thanks to John Cole for managing the site. Of course, thanks also to everyone for contributing to the site (I feel like I just gave an acceptance speech at the academy awards!). I will be contributing $100 to the cause.

Thanks Rod, and thanks John for all your efforts with this terrific resource. I’ve kicked in $100 as well.

Hi guys - Rod kudos to you for leading the way!
I don’t use paypal but am happy to contribute if John can PM me with his bank details for a direct online transfer.
I need account name and number, Bank name and bank postal address.
Regards,
Mike.

We have raised $953 so far and need about $250 more to make our goal of $1,200 for this fund raising campaign.

We receive contributions from:

Virginia Cross,

Jo Anne Ross,

Paul Becker,

Mark Fuller,

Derek Lundy.

Thank you, thank you so very much. Your generous support tells all of us, you care about keeping this resource on the Internet.

We also have several pledges. We need to make our goal. Making a donation tells all the forum members you believe in this site and the benefits of this site.

What is a BCC and FC. Sail into an anchorage or off the hook and you will understand what it means to sail a BCC or FC. Very few boats sail as well as the BCC or FC, look as beautiful and bring their crews home after a storm. That’s what a BCC and FC are, beautiful sailing machines and this is our site for discussions about these lovely boats and displaying photos of our boats and projects. It’s all here and we need to support this resource.

Please make a $5, $10, $20, $30 donation.

Thanks You,

Rod

Mike I think a check would be simpler

Perhaps the BCC forum can help the FC forum. I looked at several questions posted on the FC forum and I think we may be able to help, the Falmouth Cutter owners with their project.

I suspect the FC people may feel like an orphan considering how active the BCC forum is.

The Falmouth Cutter is a beautiful boats and little sister to the BCC. If you have a moment, please look at the FC posts and support our little sister.

Thanks,

John I am sending a Check for $50 as part of my dues to the BCC Club.

Rod - Being in Dubai with a different currency, It’s not possible for me to write a Dollar check…
A UAE Dirham check would take forever to clear in USA.

I can however make an immediate bank transfer if I have the details.
I do this all the time - in fact yesterday transferred funds to Mike Anderson in connection with the Freehand windvane.

Account data messaged.

Thanks
John
