I AM INTERESTED IN THE BCC. MY REALISTIC CRUSING GROUNDS, AT LEAST FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS ARE THE WATERS OFF CAPE COD, MA AND THE LOCAL ISLANDS. MY QUESTION IS: IS THE BCC MORE OF AN OFF SHORE BOAT OR WILL IT SERVE WELL AS A STABLE COSTAL CRUSIER.

Hi Dave, although I’m just a California guy and not familiar with the area
you live in, I’d say that for it’s size, it is both an excellent offshore
boat, and also a truly capable inshore cruiser. We recently sailed
Scallywag to Catalina for a meet-up with other Lyle Hess boats. No one
could think of anything to complain about. Lots of happy people. Off the
wind or going to weather, the BCC has the ride of a 50 footer. Recommended.
BCC is excellent coastal cruiser. I bought a 1985 last year and plan to
sail Long Island Sound , and coastal waters of Block Island, Rhode Island
and Mass. There are two BCC’s for sail that I am aware of–both located in
NY on the Hudsopn River where I have a mooring.

I am looking to purchase a bcc and was wondering if you ever found
one.I am on Marthas Vineyard and feel it would be the perfect boat.
