KEROSENE NAVIGATION LIGHTS

Hi All,
Does anyone know where I can purchase a set of kerosene navigation lights?
Perko no longer makes them – as an interesting side note, the lady I spoke
to at Perko said they stopped making them years ago due to a lack of demand
although she reports there have been many requests lately. I asked if they
had thought about making them avalilble again and she said no. I have made
numerous additional inquires to no avail. I would be happy with new or used
lights, provided they are in good shape.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

If you get multiple responses,we too would like to
have a set aboard for our BCC, Anita Rock from San
Francisco. I have a well used (my use) anchor light
that has 10-12 hr capacity. The issue of small nav
lights is they are small and the tanks limit their
use.
Howbeit, it would be nice to have a good pair. thanks
for remembering us, in advance!

i saw a set in a antique shop in maine this summer. i think it
was camden, maine but may have been in boothbay harbor. thought
about buying them, but the wife was with me (why else would i be in
antique shop?) and they were kind of steep ($150?). you could try
looking in the yellow pages and calling all them. you may find there
are quite a few stores. seemed like 10 thousand when the first mate
was dragging me thru.
there was a galvanized stern light at my local consignment shop[
but he recently closed and the guy who is taking over the business is
not yet up and running. i think he wanted $80.
i personally prefer a good masthead tricolor.

You can get them at Classic Marine in England. Their web site is
www.classicmarine.co.uk and they have an online catalog. I got a kerosene
stern light from them. I purchased spare port and starboard kerosene lights
from someone on ebay and they are not real nautical lamps. Buyer beware.
I’m happy with the one I got from Classic Marine though. They show to be
72.10 pounds each, so whatever the exchange rate is plus a small import fee.

Weems & Plath, Annapolis had a new pair of Kerosene Navigation Lights for sale at the October Scratch and Dent Sale - price was $50 for each lantern - double chimney.  You may want to telephone Weems & Plath and ask if they still have them.
I love the idea but from a practical point of view and from a COLREG view, they are worthless.
