Marinas in mid to lower Chesapeake Bay

Hi All,

A friend of mine is bringing his boat (not a BCC) from Rhode Island
to Florida, and wants to keep her on the Virginia side of the Chesapeake Bay
for the summer.

I recommeded two Marinas to him: the York River Yacht Haven on the York River,
and the Salt Ponds Marina in Hampton. He and his wife want to be near a
city, so Deltaville is out.

Can anyone think of any other nice marina’s near Hampton Roads? The boat
is a 54ft Bennetau, drawing 7ft. I was thinking about the Tidewater Yacht
Agency marina in Portsmouth also, but its a bit expensive.

Ocean Marine Yacht Center in Portsmouth is just a bit farther up the
river from Tidewater. We’ve stayed at both, Ocean Marine has a
courtesy car and is smaller and a lot quieter plus has floating docks.
I think the prices are similar.
