David & Susan,

I replaced my mast on Crystal Swan II and still have to old mast. I can
measure it for you and send you the dimensions. The catch is that I am in
Michigan right now and my mast is in south Texas. I am returning to Texas
today and will arrive late tonight, I can measure it for you and send the
dimensions on Thursday.
You can also contact Alan Massey at Forespar, the manufacturer of my
original BCC mast. He is the one I dealt with when I ordered a factory
replacement for my original mast.
His email address is alan@yachtprojectsetc.com

David and Susan:
The length of IDUNA's mast which was built by Pacific Spar, Canada is 44' 11" from the butt end to the top of the masthead, i.e. end-to-end measurement.  To ensure you have an reasonably accurate measurement, it may be necessary to go aloft and physically measure the mast from the masthead to the deck then take the mast step to deck measurement and add about 2" to the sum of these measurements.  If you are within two inches of the reported measurements, use the larger of the two measurements. If you are planning to ship the mast, it is better to error long than short, as I suspect you already know. Mr. Osborne suggestion would eliminate the guess work, as well as going aloft, assuming you have a Forespar mast.  If you only need the measurement for a shipping estimate, ask the shipping agent to provide an estimate for a 45' and a 46' mast.  Hope you can use the information.

David and Susan:
I find it interesting the two measured mast lengths reported at the discussion forum are ~2 ft. longer than the mast length you reported.  I assume the term "e-mail" refers to an e-mail from Forespar.  The 45 ft. length I reported is a rounded up number.  The actual measurement is 44' 11 7/8" which is 1" longer than Calliste's reported mast length of 44' 10 7/8". You may want to measure your mast.

according to previous owner’s measurements(he was a meticulous
mechanical engineer) my forespar mast is 45’-1 1/4" to the top of the
little rinky dink anchor light that was there previously, knock off an
inch or so without that.
