Overdue

It was reported to the Coast Guard that CamlinII #89? is “overdue” on a
passage from Honolulu to San Diego with singlehander and new owner
John Wilson on board. That is all the information that I have at this
time.

He left Honolulu on July 10. He had Trinka 8’ dinghy on the bow,
406mhz
EPIRB but no life raft.

John Wilson on Shamrock #89 [formerly KamlinII] has arrived safely in
San Francisco stopping short of San Diego due to the long passage.

I’m the owner of BCC #92 Shamrock (ex. Kam Lin Too) that was reported
overdue on a passage from Honolulu to Hawaii. Well, reports of my
demise were a bit premature. The trip was long due to lots of light
air (35 days), but there were absolutely no problems. I wanted to
thank all for the attention of this group (special thanks to Ron
Thompson and Roger Olsen). I’m back in North Carolina (just in time
for the flood) and the boat is in Berekeley till the end of the tropical
weather season. Roger- you build a fine boat indeed, but I have no
wish to test her in a storm like the one that just came through here.
I have
a friend with a Crealock 34 in the Bahamas. He escaped with not a bit
of
damage. Clean living and a pure heart I guess (unusual among sailors…)
