Re: AO

We also met AO and his wife in Trinidad in '99. I think Polaris Jack was built in the Carolinas somewhere. He is indeed a real character and I hope someone will pass on a hello to him from Waxwing.

Hi Kate-

FYI he goes by AO- a very interesting person. We met
him and his wife in Trinidad while we were cruising .
. . i also seem to recall that is isn;t exactly a
falmouth - it's a 26 footer of a strange background.
That's great news - we have been trying to get in
touch with him for a long while!

We'll do our best to be there . . .

AO must really get around! We met him in Charleston last year. He
and his wife were living aboard at the Ashley Marina. Polaris Jack
was built in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. It looks identical
to a BCC, just a few feet shorter. In fact, I almost mistook it for
an early BCC when I first walked by.

Aloha BCCers,

Good news! We might have Alfred Halsey join us with
his Falmouth Cutter
“Polaris Jack”. He’s sailed her to Venezuela twice
and up to Maine and
all over the place. Sumio gave me the Falmouth
Cutter Owners List so I
can alert them. There might be a couple more
Falmouth Cutters around.
The land party is growing, so I hope some of you who

I’m hoping that the four of us from Annapolis can
sail over as a
flotilla of BCCs on the 29th. Let’s see how plans
come together. Oh
yeah, the person who comes the farthest will receive
a very nice gift
from RogueWave. I think some folks will “race”
across the bay or head
South for more sailing adventure.
