Re: Bowsprit netting

Has anyone discovered a good source of pre-woven netting that would be
useable as netting on the sprit? I have Roger’s pattern but my off season
project list is already getting huge.

Tom:
Memphis Net and Twine Co. stocks commercial and sports related netting.  The telephone number is 1-800-238-6380 and the website address is www.memphisnet.net   - catalog on website.  You can order a catalog via the website.  I ordered the commercial catalog and sports net catalog but all you need for your netting is the commercial catalog.

Hamilton Marine, Seasport ME has a commercial net loft.  The telephone number to the marine store 207-584-6302.  You will need to ask for the number to the net loft.
Is it possible to post Roger's pattern at this discussion forum?

Rod and all:

I have just acquired a scanner and will send Roger’s pattern as soon as I
play with the program a bit. Any suggestions as to file type??? HTML,
.jpeg etc.

TOM:

JPEG image format is almost universal and has a smaller file size than the GIF format which is the Internet standard.

Here is a copy of Roger’s bowsprit net plan. I set it up in HTM format as
it seemed to reproduce better after being gnawed on by cyberspace. If
anyone needs a different format, e-mail me directly and I will do what I
can. Note that this does not provide for netting over a bow pulpit…have
to add length as appropriate.

Shiny side up…Tom

OK…let’s try this again with real attachments this time…Here,
really, are Roger’s diagrams for bowsprit netting. HTM/.GIF files seemed
to reproduce better. If you cut and paste, you will have the whole pattern.
