The consensus seems to be a Max Prop for our boats. I currently have a
fixed pitch, 3-blade and was going to wait one season on the Great Lakes to
see if I wanted a folding/feathering prop. As it is hard to go more than
300 miles in any single direction, overall boat speed is less of a concern
here than if I were doing blue water passages. I have an opportunity to
get a very friendly price on the Flex-O-Fold in the next week and I like
the simplicity of the design. Also, superior back down is a plus for
getting in and out of small, safe anchorages.
Has anyone tried one? Has anyone thought about one and rejected it? Any
feedback would be greatly appreciated.
