Call Sumio at Sam Morse. I think they still put them on new boats.

Thanks. Talked to him earlier this am and he’ll call
me back. He may not have enough for himself but will
put me in touch with the manufacturer otherwise.

We’ve gone through the same thing on the Hans Christian Owners
Association. One of our members had a bunch of stars cast on our
behalf and may have extras (although I don’t know how similar they
are) or be able to give you useful information on where you can get it
done cost effectively.

Just go to the http://www.hanschristian.org message board and search
for bronze stars if that route is of any interest.

I made one quite cheaply. I hacksawed a slice off a bronze propeller
shaft that a friend had in his scrap pile. Scratched out a five point
star. Hacksawed away the bits that didn’t look like a star. Cleaned
it up with a file and drilled a hole through the center. Total out of
pocket outlay: $0.00. Of course, it doesn’t look like one of the nice
cast ones, where each point is bevelled. I suppose I could have
bevelled the points with the file, but I didn’t think of it at the
time. Still, it seems to have brought good luck. I’ve done 35,000
miles around the Pacific with no serious mishaps.

Cheers,

Give me a call–I have a source and some extra bronze stars ( 1 3/4" )
across the star tips–yours for the asking.
