Wanted: Montgomery 23

This is a bit of a shot in the dark, I am looking to purchase a Montgomery 23 sailboat to teach my kids sailing up and down the West Coast and wanted to see if you have any members or ideas of how to contact owners who would be willing to sell?

I am based in Alpine CA, and have been racing offshore extensively in the Pacific and would like to pass down the art of sailing to my young children. I am looking for a seaworthy, safe, trailered sailboat that can handle going out to the Channel Islands and I can pull with our SUV up and down the west coast for lake sailing.

I have zeroed in on a Montgomery 23 and I would be honored to continue the legacy of Lyle Hess. I have restored a sailing skiff (nordic 13 gaff rigged) and pride myself in making sure she would be kept in Bristol shape.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, even just a hint would go a long way.

I already have a 13ft sailing skiff. Sadly too small for the whole family. Trying to upgrade to a 20+footer that’s trailerable, big enough to overnight, and seaworthy enough to explore Channel Islands.

I was thinking it would look good as a matching tender for the 23.

Oh man, that would be a great tender for a 23 as well as a BCC, Lyle Hess from the open seas to the dinghy dock.
